.Travel Authentication Process


All registrants must first be authenticated by an Authentication Provider. Once your eligibility is confirmed, you will be sent a Unique Identification Number (UIN), along with the list of names which you are eligible for.

There is no cost to become authenticated for .travel by your travel association. If you do not belong to one of the participating associations listed below, then you can use Dun & Bradstreet for a small fee.

Any business, organization or individual whose primary activity is within one of eighteen business sectors of the travel industry is eligible to register a name.

  • Bed & Breakfast Houses
  • Bus/Taxi/Limousine Operators
  • Camp Facility Operators
  • Car Rental Companies
  • Computer Reservation/Travel Technology Provider
  • Convention & Visitor's Bureaus
  • Cruise Lines
  • Ferries
  • Hotels/Resorts/Casinos
  • National Tourism Offices
  • Passenger Rail Lines
  • Restaurants
  • Tour Operators
  • Travel Agents
  • Travel Media
  • Travel-Consumer and Market Research Organizations
The types of names you can register include any name that is publicly used by, or associated with, your organization. The names that can be registered include:
  • Your legal name, corpoation, partnership or Doing Business As (DBA)
  • Trade Name; or; Usual Business Name; or website URL
  • Trade Mark
  • Service Mark
  • Club or Association Name
  • Vessel Name
  • Competition/Event Name
  • Division Name
  • Subsidiary Name
  • Acronyms of your business

Leading Travel Associations are serving as .travel authentication providers (AP) for their members.
Review the list below to see if you belong to an approved .travel AP.

If you do not belong to one of the AP's listed below, then you can use D&B to get authenticated.
